About Chris Schultz
Chris Schultz is a tech entrepreneur who lives in New Orleans, LA. He has launched several Internet companies and blogs about entrepreneurship and the start-up ecosystem in Louisiana at VoodooVentures.com.
Chris actively mentors young entrepreneurs in the community in addition to building his own companies. He also is a passionate member of the BarCamp community and organized the first BarCamp in New Orleans and in Russia with his partners in Flatsourcing. He regularly speaks at technology conferences and “unconferences" including SXSW and WordCamp.
Chris is the founder and president of Voodoo Ventures, LLC a technology company incubator in New Orleans, LA. He is currently building the software development firm, Flatsourcing.com. He won a New Orleans CityBusiness Innovator of the Year award consecutively in 2006 and 2007 for the launch of Huckabuck.com, a meta-search engine and siteMighty.com, a web publishing tool. Huckabuck was acquired in 2006 and siteMighty continues to be operated by Voodoo Ventures.
Prior to Voodoo Ventures, Chris founded Destination VIP, Inc. a Las Vegas-based internet travel company which was acquired in 2003 by VegasHotSpots. He received his MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2002, and his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1996.
Chris loves riding his 1976 BMW motorcycle around New Orleans and taking "business trips" to exotic locations.
